Panda Art Card — Original ACEO Painting

$10.00

A panda sitting square in the middle of a bamboo grove gone magenta and gold. An original ACEO card, 3.5 × 2.5 inches, signed on the back.

About this panda art card

A panda sits square in the middle of this panda art card, facing straight out. Pandas do sit like that. They plant themselves, and very little seems to bother them.

The bamboo behind him is not green. It runs in gold and teal bands across hot magenta, top to bottom, so the grove reads as pattern rather than as plants.

There was a reason for that. A giant panda spends most of its waking hours inside a bamboo thicket, eating. So I wanted the grove to look like the loud, busy, slightly overwhelming place it must be from in there.

Size, materials and shipping

This panda art card is 3.5 by 2.5 inches, the fixed ACEO size. It is acrylic, sealed with gloss varnish, and signed on the back.

It arrives in a clear protective sleeve inside a rigid mailer. Nothing bends in transit.

The cheapest way to own an original

ACEO means Art Cards, Editions and Originals. The format exists so that original art can stay affordable. A painting this size costs a fraction of a canvas, but it is still a painting, and nobody else owns this one.

For a lot of people an ACEO is the first original artwork they ever buy. That alone justifies the whole format.

There is a bigger panda

Panda Universe puts three of them under a glowing tree on a 16 by 20 canvas, and it lights up under a blacklight.

When this card finds a home it is gone, because I do not reprint them.

Who tends to buy these

Panda paintings usually go to one of two people. Some want the animal, because they love pandas and that is reason enough. Others want the colour, and the panda is almost incidental. This card works either way, since the magenta does as much heavy lifting as the bear.

The bamboo bands went down before the panda did. You can watch that order of working in the process videos on my YouTube channel.
